The Concrete Base Foundation is a floating foundation running around the perimeter of the structure. It is 20" (50.8cm) wide and 18" (45.72cm) deep. This type of concrete foundation has a 'U-Groove' formation into which the assembled building is grouted.
Portable Foundation
The Industrial Base Plate is made from heavy duty, 14 gauge steel. It is affixed to a solid floating foundation, 10" (25.4cm) wide by 16" (40.64cm) deep. Staggered anchor bolts are used to connect the base plate to the concrete perimeter. The steel building is then assembled and bolted directly onto the Industrial Base Plate.
Base Plate Connectors
Base Plate Connectors are available as an alternative foundation method, cutting down on concreting costs by 50%. Miracle Span Steel Buildings can be bolted to a shallow concrete pad using our specially designed base plate connector which is made from heavy-duty, 14 gauge steel. The connector is secured to a solid floating foundation, approximately 25.4cm (10") wide x 40.64cm (16") deep using staggered anchor bolts. The steel building is then bolted directly onto the connector, enabling it to be relocated if necessary. Our base plate connector does not require any grout, and is less labour intensive than the concrete base foundation, creating a water barrier and run off system.
